Texas Hold’em Tips

The first and most important tip to playing Texas Hold’em is this: play good starting hands. You need a hand that is strong and good enough that it will see the flop. If you have a really poor hand, don’t be afraid to fold it. This is a common mistake made by many players; they think even with a weak hand that they may just be able to get through it. Unless you want to lose more than you make you are advised to stick with strong hands.

Great hands that can hit that pot before the flop are as follows:  Pair of Aces of any kind, pair of kings of any kind, pair of Queens of any kind, an ace and a king of any kind, a pair of jacks of any kind, an Ace and a Queen of any kind and finally, a pair of 10′s of any kind.

To play Texas Hold’em successfully you need to be a tighter player. If you are tempted to play loose with your hands and your bets, you are going to lose big money. The best players are always the players that like to play a tight game of Texas Hold’em. Why not watch a game or two before going in yourself. This gives you the perfect opportunity to see that the loose players are the ones that win a lot less than the tighter players.

Another great tip for playing Texas Hold’em is to figure out the flop. If you can read the flop quickly and make decisions related to the flop you see, you may be more successful when playing Texas Hold’em. You only have on average around 10 seconds to decide what you are going to do when the flop hits the table. That is why it is imperative you learn how to read it and how to base your decisions on what you have read.
