Winning Money with Texas Hold’em
Winning money is the aim of the Hold’em game at the end of the day for most of the players playing, but don’t get this confused with winning pots. If you are playing to win the majority of pots you are going to lose more money than win. Play all the hands until the end and you win most of the pots, but lose a load of money in the process as some pots if played right are bigger than others.
The best players in the world play only a small amount of hands, but when they play they are usually quite aggressive; attempting to raise the amount they win when lady luck is smiling on them.
If money is the main reason you are playing the Hold’em game try not to luck into reasons to play the hand in front of you or you will end up playing more hands than you should be. Money saved from not playing the hand is just as sweet as money won. Knowing when the time to release your cards is also as important as knowing when to raise the stakes.
When playing Hold’em poker remember it’s only losing players that stay at the table hoping for that big hand. Staying at the table longer than you should is only taking money out of your pockets, and feeding the other players who also know this.
Chose your hands wisely as you will need to learn when to go on the “all out attack” during a hand and when to lie low. If you are into attacking, especially when your cards don’t back your actions up, your opponents will pick up on this and wait till they have better hands.
Attacking players have two ways of winning the pot either forcing your opponent out of the pot by raising your bet, which forces your opponent to release his cards or having a strong hand. While passive players are the players who check and call, only really ever have one way of winning which is presenting the best hand.
